Print-on-demand books

Each copy of Love Letters to Sudan is printed individually for you when you place your order. Because every book is made to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, incorrect selection, or buyer's remorse. All sales are final except in the circumstances described below.

Damaged, defective, or misprinted books

If your book arrives damaged, defective, or with a printing error, we will replace it free of charge or issue a full refund. Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order with:

  • Your order number
  • A clear photo of the damage or defect
  • A photo of the shipping packaging (if the damage appears to be from transit)

You do not need to return the book. Once we verify the issue, we will arrange a reprint and reshipment or process your refund within 10 business days. Refunds are issued to your original payment method; please allow additional time for your bank to post the refund.

Wrong item received

If you receive a different book than the one you ordered, contact us within 14 days and we will send the correct book at no cost to you.

Lost or undelivered orders

If your tracking shows the order as delivered but you have not received it, please first check with neighbors, your local post office, and any secure delivery locations. If the order cannot be located, contact us within 21 days of the shipping date and we will investigate with the carrier and arrange a replacement or refund as appropriate.

European Union 14-day cooling-off period

Customers in the European Union are generally entitled to a 14-day right of withdrawal on online purchases. However, under Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, this right does not apply to goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalized. Because our books are printed individually on demand for each order, they fall within this exemption and are not eligible for return under the cooling-off period. Your rights regarding damaged, defective, or misdescribed goods are unaffected and are covered above.

United Kingdom

The same exemption applies under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for made-to-order goods. Statutory rights regarding faulty goods are unaffected.

Cancellations

Because books enter production quickly after an order is placed, cancellation requests must be received within 2 hours of placing your order. After this window, the book has typically entered printing and cannot be cancelled. Email us as soon as possible if you need to cancel.
